Michael A. Edwards, D.O.
Dr. Edwards received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His undergraduate work was completed at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania where he was a member of the Villanova University football team. Dr. Edwards then completed his residency at the St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency Program here in Jacksonville, Florida.
Prior to joining Coastal Family Medicine, Dr. Edwards practiced locally with a family care group in Orange Park, where he provided complete medical care for patients of all ages. He is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Practitioners.
Dr. Edwards is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.
Dr. Edwards is local to Jacksonville and has been practicing in the community for the past ten years. He has been married for 13 years to wife Amanda.
Heather M. Wade, ARNP
Heather Wade, ARNP, received her Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Kentucky, Lexington. She has more than 11 years experience.
Ms. Wade is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner. She has a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certificate, an American Nurses Credentialing Center Certification.
Amanda Adams MSN, RN, NP-C, ARNP
Amanda Adams is a registered nurse practitioner with Coastal Family Medicine, Orange Park location. Certified Family Nurse Practitioner Adams earned her bachelor’s degree at St. Johns River State College and began her career in family practice. While Adams continued her career, she also earned her master’s degree online at South University, Savannah.
In addition to Adams’ experience in family practice, she also has served patients in pediatrics, women’s health, adult cardiac inpatient and step down units. Adams also had the opportunity of working with Dr. Patricia Gilford, one of the lead physicians of the medical residency program at Orange Park Medical Center. Adams is certified in Basic Life support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
Peter Masterson, M.S.N., B.S.N., ARNP
Peter Masterson, M.S.N., B.S.N. is a certified advanced registered nurse practitioner with Coastal Family Medicine, bringing more than a decade of experience from the fields of neurological critical care, rapid response, surgical/trauma intensive care and in-home risk assessments.
Masterson earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio in 2013. With several years of clinical nursing experience already obtained from his time at UF Health Jacksonville among multiple departments, Masterson moved into an ARNP position in the neurological critical care unit within UF Health. He is affiliated with the Florida Nurse Association, and also held leadership roles in various UF Health groups, including the Clinical Practice Council, the Multi-Critical Care Committee and the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit Counsel.
Alisha Swearingen, ARNP
Alisha Swearingen is a board certified family nurse practitioner with experience in emergency medicine. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and Family Practice from the University of Cincinnati, Ohio and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Jacksonville University.
Before joining Coastal Family Medicine, Swearingen was an advanced registered nurse practitioner with TeamHealth, caring for patients of diverse ages – from pediatrics through geriatrics – at Orange Park Medical Center. Swearingen is trained in EPIC computerized charting and Meditech charting and holds additional degrees in psychology and surgical technology.
Megan Andersen, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C
Megan Andersen, MSN, ARNP is board certified as a family nurse practitioner. With high honors, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Megan completed her clinical rotations in internal medicine, dermatology, obstetrics/gynecology, pediatrics and family medicine. Before joining Coastal Family Medicine, Megan worked as a nurse practitioner at Ashchi Heart and Vascular Center managing patients with chronic cardiac and vascular diseases.
As a registered nurse, she worked with patients in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit at Southpoint Surgery Center and in the Progressive Care Unit at Baptist Beaches Medical Center. Megan is certified in basic life support and advanced cardiac life support. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Florida Association of Nurse Practitioners.
