Michael A. Edwards, D.O.

Dr. Edwards received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. His undergraduate work was completed at Villanova University in Villanova, Pennsylvania where he was a member of the Villanova University football team. Dr. Edwards then completed his residency at the St. Vincent’s Family Medicine Residency Program here in Jacksonville, Florida.

Prior to joining Coastal Family Medicine, Dr. Edwards practiced locally with a family care group in Orange Park, where he provided complete medical care for patients of all ages. He is board certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Family Practitioners.

Dr. Edwards is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians.

Dr. Edwards is local to Jacksonville and has been practicing in the community for the past ten years. He has been married to his wife, Amanda, since 2002

Caleb Dunlap, M.D.

Caleb Dunlap, M.D. is board certified in family medicine. He earned his doctorate degree from American University of the Caribbean in St. Maarten in 2019 after earning a Master of Science in Chemistry at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. Dunlap completed his family medicine residency at Orange Park Medical Center, Florida.

Before joining our practice, Dr. Dunlap was active in both volunteer and paid positions. While attending university, he served as a leasing agent and laboratory coordinator, gaining experience in organizing and training employees and students. As a volunteer, he helped to organize a carnival for orphans in St. Maarten, providing companionship to dementia patients and administering free sports physicals at Orange Park High School. As a result of his experiences, Dr. Dunlap is dedicated to pediatric and newborn care, community service, and palliative and quality of life care for his patients. He will continue to serve all ages and all stages of life, as well as being active in the Jacksonville community.

Dr. Dunlap is a member of the American Association of Family Physicians, American Medical Association, Clay County Medical Society and Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.

Amanda Adams MSN, RN, NP-C, APRN

Amanda Adams is an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner with Coastal Family Medicine, Orange Park location, serving alongside Dr. Michael Edwards and his team for more than five years.

Mrs. Adams is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at St. Johns River State College and began her career at Orange Park Medical Center. She worked on the adult step-down and telemetry units as well as the pediatric unit. While Mrs. Adams continued her career, she also earned her Master’s degree specializing in Family Nurse Practitioner at South University.

Mrs. Adams is certified in Basic Life support and Advanced Cardiac Life Support and she is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Additionally, she serves as an educator of nursing practitioner students.

Peter Masterson, M.S.N., B.S.N., APRN

Peter Masterson, M.S.N., B.S.N. is a certified advanced registered nurse practitioner with Coastal Family Medicine, bringing more than a decade of experience from the fields of neurological critical care, rapid response, surgical/trauma intensive care and in-home risk assessments.

Masterson earned his Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Cincinnati in Ohio in 2013. With several years of clinical nursing experience already obtained from his time at UF Health Jacksonville among multiple departments, Masterson moved into an ARNP position in the neurological critical care unit within UF Health. He is affiliated with the Florida Nurse Association, and also held leadership roles in various UF Health groups, including the Clinical Practice Council, the Multi-Critical Care Committee and the Trauma Surgical Intensive Care Unit Counsel.

Shameka King, MSN, RN, CCRN, FNP- BC, CFM

Shameka King, MSN, RN, CCRN, FNP-BC earned her Master of Science in Nursing at South University in Savannah, Georgia. King has fourteen years of experience in diverse nursing situations that include Nursing Supervisor at UF Health, in home health care, in trauma and intensive care, critical care and family education and with people with brain and spinal cord injuries. Her work includes nursing, data collection and analysis, and performance improvement projects. King is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. In addition to her work in local hospitals and clinics, King organizes healthcare education and blood pressure readings at local churches. She had also been active in pandemic work in the community.
